1. (b) Himachal Pradesh

Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and Congress leader Virbhadra Singh passed away in the early hours of July 8, 2021, after battling a prolonged illness. He was 87. The veteran leader was a nine-time MLA, a five-time Member of Parliament and had served as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh for six terms.

2. (b) Haiti 

Haiti President Jovenel Moise was assassinated by gunmen in his home on July 7, 2021. His wife was also wounded in the attack, confirmed interim Prime Minister of Haiti, Claude Joseph. The police and military were in control of security in Haiti, which has a history of political upheaval and dictatorship. 

3. (d) July 14th

Zomato Initial Public Offering (IPO) will open for sale on July 14 and close on July 16, 2021. Zomato IPO price band has been fixed at Rs 72-76 per share. 

4. (c) Mansukh Mandaviya

Mansukh Mandaviya has taken charge as India's new Health Minister, replacing Dr Harsh Vardhan. He is among the seven ministers who got elevated to the Union Cabinet on July 7, 2021. Mansukh Mandaviya will take charge of the clubbed Ministry of Health and Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

5. (a) Kiren Rijiju

Kiren Rijiju on July 7, 2021 took charge as the new Law and Justice Minister in the first major cabinet reshuffle in PM Modi's second government. The Minister assured that the ministry will always try to be transparent and approachable for the media so that it knows what the ministry is doing and how it is performing.

6. (b) Jyotiraditya Scindia

Jyotiraditya Scindia has been appointed as India's new Civil Aviation Minister, following his father's footsteps. His late father, Madhavrao Scindia had held the civil aviation portfolio under the PV Narasimha Rao-led central government between 1991 and 1993.

7. (a) Ashwini Vaishnaw 

Former IAS Officer Ashwini Vaishnaw has taken charge as India's new Railways Minister and IT Minister in the first major cabinet reshuffle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet on July 8, 2021. 

8. (d) MoS in Ministry of Commerce and Industry

Apna Dal President Anupriya Patel took charge as Minister of State in the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry on July 7, 2021 as a part of the major cabinet reshuffle and expansion. She was earlier serving as the Minister of State in the Union Health Ministry from 2016 to 2019.
