A 400-metre-wide giant asteroid, called 2005 YU55, came within 201700 miles of earth on 8 November 2011. An asteroid of this size didn’t come so near to Earth since 1976 and will not again until 2028. 2005 YU55 makes one complete lap around the sun every 15 months.
The asteroid sped off into the deep space at a speed of about 46700 square kilometre per hour.
