Grant Flower named as Pakistan batting coach

Former Zimbabwe batsman, Grant Flower has been named as the batting coach of Pakistan cricket team for two years.

Grant Flower, the former Zimbabwe batsman on 15 May 2014 was named as the batting coach of Pakistan cricket team for two years. He will join the Pakistan side on 1 August 2014 just before the Sri Lanka series of the team.

Grant Flower name was finalised on the recommendation of the coaching committee comprised of
• Moin Khan - Chief Selector
• Intikhab Alam - director domestic cricket operations
• Haroon Rashid - director game development

This appointment of Grant Flower came a week after Waqar Younis returned as the head coach of Pakistan.

Earlier, Grant Flower (43) has served as the batting coach of Zimbabwe for over three years from October 2010. In cricketing he had a lengthy career which included 221 ODIs and 67 Tests.

The previous Coach of the Pakistani cricket team was Australian Trent Woodhill, who decided to quit the job after Moin Khan was named as the head coach of the team.
