Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi introduced the CM Kisan Yojana on September 8. He released the first installment of the Yojana of Rs 925 crore for roughly 46 lakh farmers.
The initiative was introduced at a special event celebrating Nuakhai, the main agricultural celebration in the Western part of Odisha. The programme was hosted at Gangadhar Meher University in Sambalpur.
Benefits of CM Kisan Yojana Odisha
The CM Kisan Yojana aims to provide financial support to farmers who are not eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Under this program, eligible farmers will receive a total of Rs 4,000 in two installments: Rs 2,000 on Nuakhai and the remaining Rs 2,000 on Akshaya Tritiya.
Additionally, the scheme extends its benefits to landless farmers who were excluded from the PM Kisan Yojana. They will receive a total of Rs 12,500 in three installments. By introducing the CM Kisan Yojana, the government seeks to support this often-overlooked section of the farming community.
