HS Prannoy, the young Indian shuttler won Indonesian Badminton Masters Grand Prix Gold on 14 September 2014. He defeated Indonesian Firman Abdul Kholik 21-11, 22-20 to grab his maiden Grand Prix (GP) title in the finals played at GOR Jakabaring stadium, Indonesia.
With this win at 125000 US dollar Indonesian Masters Grand Prix, Prannoy became the third Indian shuttler to win a GP Gold title in 2014 after Saina Nehwal and Arvind Bhat. Saina Nehwal won the India GP Gold in January 2014 and Arvind Bhat win at the German Open GP Gold in March 2014.
Earlier on 7 September 2014, Prannoy finished as runners-up at the Vietnam Grand Prix in Hochiminch city. In 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, he secured a silver medal in Boys’ singles category.
