In February of next year, India will host the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) for the first time. This event will provide a worldwide stage for India's creative talents, encouraging partnerships and highlighting the nation's potential as a center for top-notch content production.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly 'Mann ki Baat' Radio address on Sunday included a lengthy discussion on the WAVES Summit.
PM Modi's Vision for WAVES
Modi compared the WAVES to international gatherings such as the World Economic Forum in Davos, stating that the Summit, which will take place in Delhi from February 5 to 9, will bring together media and entertainment leaders and innovative thinkers from around the world.
India as a Global Content Hub
According to him, this summit is a significant step in establishing India as a center for the production of content worldwide.
The prime minister highlighted how important it is for young artists to be involved in WAVES preparations, as this reflects the vibrant nature of India's creative community.
An Invitation to Creators Across Industries
PM Modi expressed delight in the nation's youth's passion and their role in the emerging creator economy, which is a major force behind India's progress toward becoming a $5 trillion economy.
“I encourage you to be a part of the WAVES Summit, whether you are a young creator or an established artist, connected to Bollywood or regional cinema, a professional from the TV industry, an expert in animation, gaming, or an innovator in entertainment technology,” Modi added.
Global Exposure for Indian Talent
According to Modi, the WAVES Summit is set to provide India's creative talents with a worldwide stage, encouraging partnerships and demonstrating the nation's potential as a center for top-notch content production.
According to him, the Summit would also showcase India's developments in mainstream and regional cinema, gaming, animation, and entertainment technologies.
