Jeet Bahadur Maru Sagar, the godson of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was reunited with his family in Kathmandu, Nepal on 3 August 2014. He was reunited with his family during Modi’s two-day official visit to Nepal.

Bahadur’s mother Khagisara thanked Narendra Modi for nurturing Jeet Bahadur as a guardian for 16 years.

Jeet Bahadur originally hails from an impoverished family of Nawalparasi district of Nepal. 16 years ago he was found wandering in the streets of Gujarat after running away from his unkind employer. Modi took the boy under his guardianship and provided him with all care and concern as a father. He provided him good education by sending him to a good school.
