Justice Dhirendra Hiralal Waghela appointed as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court

Justice Dhirendra Hiralal WaghelaJustice Dhirendra Hiralal Waghela on 8 February 2016 was appointed the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

Justice Waghela, currently serving as the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, has been asked to assume charge by 16 February 2016.

The Bombay High Court has been functioning with an officiating Chief Justice since October 2015, after the retirement of Justice Mohit S Shah in September 2015.

Born in August 1954 at Rajkot in Gujarat, Justice Waghela began legal practice in his hometown in November 1975 and was elevated to the Bench of the Gujarat High Court as Additional Judge in September 1999.
