Jul 11, 2015 08:00 IST

South Africa debutant Kagiso Rabada on 10 July 2015 became only the second cricketer in the history of One Day International (ODI) cricket to claim a hat-trick on ODI debut.

20-year-old Johannesburg-born fast bowler claimed a hat-trick in only his second over in a one-day international against Bangladesh in Mirpur. He also recorded the best debut figures in an ODI with 6-16.

His hat-trick helped South Africa (Proteas) to bowl out the hosts for a score of 160, which was chased easily by Proteas, at a loss of 2 wickets and more than 18 overs to spare.

Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam was the first debutant to take an ODI hat-trick. He achieved the fete in 2014 at Mirpur.

Scores of the match
• Bangladesh: 160 (36.3 overs)
• South Africa: 164-2 (31.1 overs)
