National Disaster Management headed by agriculture minister Sharad Pawar approved a central assistance of 107 Crore Rupees for Kerala.
Basically the relief package will be sanctioned to Kerala for facing rabi (winter) crop losses due to drought in 2012.
It is worth mentioning here that, In year 2012 Kerala faced drought due to unexpected deficit in rainfall during the Southwest and Northeast monsoons which resulted in Lack of rains and had directly affected power generation and agriculture in the State.
