Naveen Chopra appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Vodafone India
He succeeded Sunil Sood, who was elevated to post of CEO in the company and his tenure as COO will start from 1 April 2015.
Naveen Chopra on 9 February 2015 was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Vodafone India. He succeeded Sunil Sood who on 22 January 2015 was elevated to post of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in the company.
Sood will succeed Marten Pieters, who has been its Chief Executive since 2009. Pieters is the longest serving Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a telecom firm in the country.
Prior to this appointment, Chopra was serving Vodafone as Director of Vodafone Business Services (VBS). Naveen Chopra joined Vodafone (the then Vodafone Essar Ltd) in 2004 as Vice-President Corporate Marketing, has served in various posts in the company which includes CMO, Business Head of Mumbai and Rajasthan circles and the Director of VBS.
Both Chopra and Sood’s appointment will come into effect from 1 April 2015.
