Nayab Singh Saini has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana today, October 17, at a grand ceremony in Panchkula. With this he has started his second term as the CM of Haryana. He became the CM of Haryana for the first time on March 12, 2024.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are present at the event. Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, along with former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and chief ministers from other BJP-led states, are also in attendance.
Saini’s Strong Candidacy for CM
Saini led the ruling BJP to a third consecutive victory in Haryana, overcoming anti-incumbency feelings and stopping the Congress party from trying to regain power in the assembly elections.
He first became the Chief Minister of Haryana in March 2024, just before the Lok Sabha elections. He claimed his victory from the Ladwa seat in Kurukshetra district in this election.
BJP’s Hatrick in Haryana
Following a historic win in the Haryana assembly elections, the BJP is set to take power for the third time in a row. Nayab Singh Saini will be sworn in as Chief Minister for the second time.
The BJP secured 48 seats in the 90-member assembly in this recently conducted state elections.
Nayab Singh Saini Oath Ceremony Preparations
BJP Haryana chief Mohan Lal Badoli told the news agency PTI that the swearing-in ceremony is to be attended by BJP leaders, opposition leaders, social organizations, and "progressive farmers."
Around 50,000 people are expected to attend the oath ceremony. All preparations are in place in order to ensure the safety and security of all the high profile guests attending the event.
Fourteen large LED screens will be set up so that everyone can easily watch the program. Additionally, special traffic guidelines have been issued to manage the flow of vehicles.
NDA Meeting After the Ceremony
After the swearing-in ceremony, Prime Minister Modi will hold an important meeting with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders and representatives at Hotel Lalit in Panchkula from 3 PM to 7 PM.
