The army of Pakistan posted the names of its 453 soldiers killed during 1999 Kargil war against India on its website. The names of the Pakistani soldiers killed during Kargil war against India was posted in the Shuhada’s corner (Martyr’s corner) of the website.
The army of Pakistan also disclosed the codename Koh-e-Paima (Mountain of Resolve) given to the operation to occupy strategic mountains and heights on the Indian side of the LoC(Line of Control).
Most of the Pakistani soldiers who died in Batalik-Kargil sector during 1999 Kargil war were from the Northern Light Infantry. Northern Light Infantry was a paramilitary force of Pakistan formed from several militias of the GIlgit Balistan region. Later it was made a regular regiment of the Pakistan army because of its performance in Kargil war.
Pakistan army had so far denied its involvement in Kargil war against India. By posting the name of its soldiers it admitted its participation in Kargil war against India.
