Santoso won OUE Singapore Open 2014

Simon Santoso (Indonesia)Simon Santoso (Indonesia) won the OUE Singapore Open 2014 for the first time on 13 April 2014. He defeated Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia), badminton’s world number one player by 21-15, 21-10 in final match held in Singapore.  Santoso won 300000 US Dollars for this victory.

In women final match, Wang Yihan (China) won over Li Xuerui (China) by 21-11, 21-19.

In Men’s doubles, Cai Yun, Lu Kai (China) won over Lee Sheng Mu, Tsai Chia hsin (Taiwan) by 21-19, 21-14.

In Women’s doubles, Bao Yixin, Tang Jinhua(China) won over  Christinna Pedersen, Kamilla Rytter Juhl (Denmark) by 14-21, 21-19, 21-15.

In Mixed doubles, Liliyana Natsir, Tontowi Ahmad (Indonesia) won over Riky Widianto, Puspita Richi Dili (Indonesia) by 21-15, 22-20.


Singapore Open is a major sporting even in Badminton. It started in 1987.
