Sri Lanka on 13 December 2010, denied that it had any intention to ban the Tamil version of its national anthem.

Sri Lanka on 13 December 2010, denied that it had any intention to ban the Tamil version of its national anthem. Sri Lanka stated that status quo would be maintained in the case of its national anthem.


Earlier, it was reported that Sri Lankan cabinet had decided to scrap the Tamil version of its national anthem following which the Tamil minority party had raised strong objection to the Sri Lankan government decision.
