Sutherland Global Services Signed Agreements for Acquisition of Apollo Health Street

Sutherland Global Services, the US-based BPO signed on 12 December 2012, 5 agreements for acquiring Apollo Health Street (AHS), the healthcare outsourcing group of Apollo Hospitals for around 1000 crore Rupees.

Five definitive agreements were signed for acquiring 100 percent venture of AHS. The agreements would strengthen the presence of Sutherland Global Services in 38 billion dollar US healthcare BPO market. In the race to acquire AHS, Genpact, the BPO giant was also competing.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise holds 38 percent venture in AHS and after the deal it will get approximately 225 crore Rupees as part of this deal.

This would be an all-cash transaction and it would close by around February 2013 subject to the terms and conditions as well as customary regulatory.

Chairman of the Apollo Hospitals in context with this development declared that the drive was important in order to take the growth to next step of evolution. This acquisition would have around 3200 professionals who would have deep understanding and knowledge.

After completion of this acquisition, Sutherland Global Services expects that healthcare services would form 15 percent of total revenues in 2013-2014. This financial year, i.e. 2012-2013 would end with revenue of 900 million US dollar for Sutherland Global Services.
