Takahiro Hachigo was on 23 February 2015 appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Japanese automaker Honda Motor Co. Limited with effect from June 2015.
He will succeed Takanobu Ito, who resigned from his post on 23 February 2015. Prior to this appointment, Hachigo was Managing Officer of Honda Motor Co. Limited.
Hachigo joined Honda in 1982 by working as an engineer in its automobile Research & Development (R&D) operations. Later, he worked in the different areas including vehicle design, production and purchasing in several countries like United States, China and United Kingdom.
