The three day Leh Festival began in Leh region of Jammu & Kashmir on 12 June 2014. It is also known as Ladakh Singhey Khabab Spring Festival. It is organized by the Tourism Department of Jammu and Kashmir.
The main objective of the festival is to promote tourism in the region of Leh - Ladakh in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The festival is celebrated in the name of the Indus River to strengthen communal harmony in the country as the River Indus is known as a symbol of unity in diversity.
The people participate in the festival by bringing the water of the rivers that flow through their home states and the pots in the river Sindhu to Leh. The participants travel for a Darshan and Puja of the River Sindhu.
The festival was launched in the year 2001 and is celebrated annually for three days in the month of June.
