1. (a) J P Nadda
Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J P Nadda on February 10, 2018 launched the National Deworming Initiative on the occasion of the National Deworming Day. Under the National Deworming Initiative, Union Government will work to ensure that high quality healthcare is accessible to every child and up to the last mile.

2. (b) New Delhi
The 2018 International Conference on Unani Medicine was inaugurated by Union Minister of Development of North-East Region Dr Jitendra Singh with theme “Integration of Unani System of Medicine in Mainstream Healthcare” in New Delhi.

3. (c) Odisha
Chandrasekhar Rath (89), the doyen of Odia literature, passed away in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on February 10, 2018. Rath was conferred with several awards, including Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award, Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award and Atibadi Jagannath Das Samman for his contribution in the field of literature.

Union Ministry of Power launched a Web based monitoring System and a Fly Ash mobile application named ASH TRACK. These platforms will enable better management of the ash produced by thermal power plants by providing an interface between fly ash producers (Thermal Power Plants) and potential ash users such as – road contractors, cement plants etc

India and Palestine on February 10, 2018 signed six Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) for cooperation in the field of infrastructural development in Palestine. All the agreements signed between the two countries were handed over to the Palestinian side by the Foreign Secretary Vijay K Gokhale.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the building of Hindu temple at Abu Mureikhah, off the Dubai-Abu Dhabi highway in United Arab Emirates.

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath announced that the state government is preparing a plan to open gaushalas or cow sheds in a phased manner to overcome the problem faced by farmers over stray cows.

8. (d) Shikhar Dhawan
Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan created history by becoming the first Indian to score a century in his 100th One-day International. The only other Indian batsman to have come close to achieving the feat was former Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly.

9. (a) INS Garuda
The Integrated Automatic Aviation Meteorological Systems was inaugurated by Rear Admiral RJ Nadkarni at INS Garuda, the oldest operating air station of the Indian Navy. The naval air station is the fourth one to be installed with the integrated system.

The National Productivity Council observed the National Productivity Day on February 12, 2018. The council would also be observing the National Productivity Week till February 18th with the theme ‘Industry 4.0 Leapfrog Opportunity for India’. This year, the council is celebrating its 60th anniversary.

India and the Gulf state of Oman signed 8 MoUs on February 11, 2018  to strengthen cooperation in areas such as health, tourism, outer space and defence. The agreements were inked during Indian PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the nation.

12. (d) Rajasthan
The Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on February 12, 2018 announced a one-time loan waiver of up to Rs. 50,000 for small and marginal farmers in the state. In her budget speech in the assembly, Raje also announced to set up a farmer’s loan relief commission where farmers can present their side for getting relief on merit basis.
