Modi’s two-day flagship, ‘Start up India Summit’ begins in UAE
The Start-up India summit was convened in UAE’s capital city, Abu Dhabi to provide a common platform for the Start up eco system in both India and UAE to come together for greater collaborations and interactions.
The two-day ‘Start up India Summit’ began in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 23 May 2017.
The summit is the first of its kind to be held in the UAE. It is being organised by the Consul General of India (CGI) in Dubai and the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi in partnership with iSPIRIT, a non-profit think tank and supported by TiE, Dubai, a non-profit association dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship.
• The main aim of the summit is to provide a common platform for the Start up eco system in both India and UAE in order to encourage greater collaboration, exchange of ideas and interaction with academia, investors and industry.
• The summit also aims to provide the start ups with access to the funding from venture capitalists in the UAE.
• The participants from India include 17 start-up companies in the space of Artificial Intelligence, Financial Technology, Digi Medicine, Health care Technology, Innovative Technology and Software.
Speaking on the occasion, Indian Ambassador to UAE Navdeep Suri stated that ‘Start Up India’ is the flagship programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and an endeavour of India, which is the third largest eco system in the world, to become the leading nation in technological innovation globally and UAE, which aims to be the world hub for technology in the future.
