Union Cabinet approved amendments to the Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973
The amendments are aimed at improving the quality of homoeopathy education in the country.
The Union Cabinet on 31 March 2015 gave its nod to the proposed amendments to the Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973.
The amendments are aimed at improving the quality of homeopathy education in the country.
Following are the approved amendments:
• The Union Government’s permission to undertake annual admissions is being made mandatory for all the homoeopathy colleges in the country.
• The Union Government is empowered to give permission for five years to colleges which conform to the prescribed standards as specified in the regulations made under the Act.
The amendments to the act were necessitated due to the fact that under the present form of the Act, the Union Government is not in a position to stop those homeopathy colleges which are not adhering to the quality standards specified under the Act. Due to this, the quality of homoeopathy education is being compromised.
