Union Government approved 1000 crore Rs to develop Jammu and Kashmir sports infrastructure

The Union Government of India approved a special package 1000 crore Rupees to strengthen sports infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir on 16 September 2013.

The objective of the special package is construction of new stadiums and sports fields across the state.

Many parts of the state do not have facilities to organize sports events during winter due to the harsh weather conditions. This fund is useful to make sports activity and infrastructure available all throughout the year.

The Jammu and Kashmir Government made a policy under which every block in the state will be provided with both indoor and outdoor sports complexes. Every panchayat in the state will be provided with a sports field, and the government will also upgrade the already available sports equipments.
