The US President-elect Joe Biden on January 14, 2021, announced a USD 1.9 trillion plan for reviving the country’s economy and for combating the Coronavirus.
While announcing the package, he mentioned that we have no time to waste when it comes to getting this virus under control and building our economy back better. The plan underscores the incoming President’s intent to aggressively mitigate the effect of a pandemic on the nation’s economy.
President-elect also noted that there is a need to tackle the economic crisis and public health that the country is facing. He added that together, we will change the course of the pandemic, will build a bridge towards economic recovery, and will also be investing in racial justice.

• The plan by Joe Biden will ask congress to approve up to USD 400 billion for combating the deadly virus so that community vaccination sites can be established across the US. It will help in boosting and tracing the novel Coronavirus.
• The ambitious plan also proposes providing eligible individuals with USD 14,000 in stimulus payments.
• It seeks to provide USD 130 billion in order to help schools in the US so that they can reopen safely within the first 100 days of Biden’s Presidency.
An ambitious ‘American Rescue Plan’:
According to Biden’s transition team, the USD 1.9 trillion ‘American Rescue Plan’ is ambitious but is definitely achievable. It will help in rescuing the American economy and will start beating the virus.
It further added that Congress must start acting expeditiously in order to help working families, small businesses, and communities to continue through the COVID-19 pandemic.
