Viswanathan Anand drew against Russian Vladimir Kramnik and finished joint second with Luke Mcshane of England at the 2010 London Chess Classic.

World Champion Indian Viswanathan Anand drew against Russian Vladimir Kramnik on 16 December 2010 and finished joint second with Luke Mcshane of England at the 2010 London Chess Classic at Olympia. The first place was taken by Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen of Norway who had gained a crushing victory Nigel Short of England on 15 December 2010. Carlsen recorded four victories, one draw and two losses and thereby gained 13-points in the Soccer-like scoring system. He remained two points ahead of Anand and Mcshane. The victory will enable Carlsen to reclaim his place at the top of the official rating list in January 2011. Kramnik and Hikaru Nakamura of United States finished joint fourth on 10 points each.
