1. (c) United Nations Environment Programme
UN Environment Chief Erik Solheim resigned from his post on November 20, 2018 following an audit report questioning his huge travel expenses. A UN audit had found that Solheim had spent nearly five lakh US dollar on travel. The unjustified travel expenses come at a time when the world body is struggling with shrinking budgets.
2. (a) Jammu and Kashmir
The Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on November 21, 2019 dissolved the State Assembly with immediate effect after rival alliances staked claim to form the government. The Governor cited four main reasons for dissolving the Assembly and these include horse-trading and possible exchange of money and the impossibility of forming a stable government by parties with opposing political ideologies.
3. (a) Roscosmos
The International Space Station (ISS) turned 20 years old on November 20, 2018. The project was kicked by Russian space agency Roscosmos when it launched its Zarya module from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on November 20, 1998.

The state cabinet of Maharashtra on November 18, 2018 passed the Maratha Reservation Bill, approving reservation for the Maratha community. The state government made the decision based on the recommendations of the Maharashtra State Backward Class Commission. The move follows months of massive protests by members of the community demanding reservation in education and jobs.
5. (a) Alexander Zverev
Alexander Zverev on November 18, 2018 upset world number one Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 to claim the season-ending ATP Finals and ended the year with the biggest victory of his career. With the win, the 21-year-old became the youngest champion of the season-ending event since Djokovic claimed the first of his five titles a decade ago and the first from Germany since 1995.
6. (a) Chennai International Airport
Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu on November 19, 2018 launched the upgraded version of AirSewa 2.0 web portal and mobile app in New Delhi. The Minister also gave away the champion award to Chennai airport that saw hundred per cent timely closure of grievances in one year.
7. (d) France
The International prototype of kilogram (IPK), which serves as the international standard of kilogram, is kept at the BIPM in Paris, France. It is made of 90 per cent platinum and 10 per cent iridium and is a cylinder of 39 mm diameter and 39 mm height. The replicas of the IPK are made of the same material and used at BIPM as reference or working standards.

The Maldives cabinet has approved the proposal to rejoin the Commonwealth, two years after withdrawing from the 53-nation grouping. The announcement was made by the nation’s newly inaugurated President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on November 19. The country had left the Commonwealth during former President Abdulla Yameen's administration in October 2016.

Filmmaker Nandita Das will be honoured with the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) Award at the 12th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in Brisbane on November 29, 2018. Das will be presented the award in recognition of her achievement in film in the Asia Pacific region.
10. (c) West Bengal
To end an era of undecided future for the people residing West Bengal (WB) enclaves, the WB Assembly unanimously passed a bill to provide land rights to enclave dwellers in north Bengal. The bill, moved by Minister of State for Land and Land Reforms Chandrima Bhattacharya, was passed in the House unopposed.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has vowed never to allow foreign military bases in his country. The Prime Minister said that the country's Constitution does not permit foreign troops in Cambodia. His remarks come in the wake of a news report that suggested China is pushing for a naval base in southern Cambodia that would potentially provide Beijing with easier access to the South China Sea.
12. (d) Ajay Bhushan Pandey
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on November 17, 2018 appointed Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey as the new revenue secretary. He will succeed current Finance and Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia, who is retiring on November 30.
