1.(a) Building a Better Future
The 2020 theme of the India Ideas Summit was ‘Building a Better Future’. The summit was hosted by US-India Business Council. This year’s edition marks the 45th anniversary of the founding of the council.

2. (b) Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon has passed away on July 21, 2020 at the age of 85. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Lucknow since June, but his condition turn critical on July 18, 2020 and he was put on ventilator support. His condition had continued to deteriorate as lungs, kidney and liver were not functioning properly.

3. (b) Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank 
The Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank launched MANODARPAN initiative to provide psychosocial support to students for their mental health and well-being on July 21, 2020 in New Delhi. 

4.(d) Gujarat 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 22, 2020 congratulated the nuclear scientists as Gujarat's Kakrapar atomic power plant-3 achieved criticality. The Prime Minister highlighted that the indigenous 700 MWe KAPP-3 reactor will be a shining example of the 'Make in India' campaign.

The Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurated Zoram mega food park in Mizoram on July 21, 2020 that will benefit around 25,000 farmers and generate around 5,000 job opportunities.

6. (b) Jharkhand 
Jharkhand state cabinet on July 22, 2020 approved the Jharkhand Contagious Disease Ordinance 2020, under which violations of COVID-19 protocols such as not wearing masks will invite jail term up to 2 years and fine of up to Rs 1 lakh. 

7. (d) Greta Thunberg
Greta Thunberg, a 17-year-old environment activist from Sweden, was named the winner of the first Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity. She is a founder of a school strike for climate and is known as one of the most influential environmental activists.

8. (b) Tianwen-1
China launched its first ambitious Mars Rover Mission- ‘Tianwen-1’ on July 23, 2020 aboard Long March 5 rocket from Hainan Island's Wenchang Satellite Launch Center. Tianwen-1 includes a Mars orbiter, a lander and a rover.

9. (c) October 2021
NASA has rescheduled the launch of James Webb Space Telescope to October 31, 2021. The launch was earlier scheduled for March 2021. The space agency had confirmed last month that the March 2021 launch target was not possible due to the delays brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and other technical challenges. 

10. (a) October-November 2021
The International Cricket Council confirmed on July 20, 2020 that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be held Australia 2020 has been postponed to October-November 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
