Zimbabwean filmmaker and novelist Tsitsi Dangarembga was awarded the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade 2021 on October 24, 2021 for her artistic work as well as her political commitment. 

2. (b) Rajnikanth 

Legendary actor Rajnikanth was honoured with the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 67th National Film Awards ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu conferred the prestigious award upon the actor for his outstanding contribution to the world of Indian cinema.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be changing its company name to Meta during the company's Connect virtual reality conference on October 28, 2021. He said, "It is time for us to adopt a new company brand to encompass everything that we do."

Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has been reappointed to the post for a term of three years. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his reappointment for a period of three years beyond December 10, 2021 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Google Doodle celebrated Japan’s 'Father of Judo' Professor Kano Jigoro with a doodle on October 28, 2021, on the occasion of his 161st birthday. Google has paid tribute to Kano Jigoro with a Google Doodle for not only inventing martial art but using it as a sport to bring together people on the grounds of justice, safety, courtesy, and modesty.

Indian-Origin Canadian politician, Anita Anand was appointed as the new Defence Minister of Canada on October 26, 2021. She replaces Canada's long-time serving Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan, who is also of Indian origin.

The Mullaperiyar dam, located in Kerala’s Idukki district, was constructed in 1895 by the British to meet the water requirements of Madurai in Tamil Nadu. It is managed by the Tamil Nadu government.

The first indigenous aircraft carrier (IAC) of India, Vikrant, set sail on October 24, 2021, for the second sea trials before its planned induction into the Indian Navy by August 2022.

West Indies is the only nation to have won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup twice, in 2012 and 2016. West Indies is also the present defending champions. Among the remaining teams, India, Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka have lifted the T20 World Cup once each. 

10. (a) Sudan 

The African Union has suspended Sudan from all of its activities until a civilian-led transitional authority is restored in the nation. This comes after Sudan's military leader Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan dissolved the ruling Sovereign Council and declared a state of emergency in the nation and his forces arrested acting Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and other top officials.

11. (a) Rahul Dravid

Former India skipper Rahul Dravid applied for the position of head coach of Team India on October 26, 2021. He is currently serving as the head of the National Cricket Academy. 

12. (c) Ahmedabad, Lucknow

Ahmedabad and Lucknow have been announced as the two teams of the Indian Premier League, taking the total number of IPL teams in the next season to ten.
