How is JEE Advanced 2023 Result Prepared?
The officials prepare the JEE Advanced result 2023 in a way that is transparent and candidates are selected based on their merit. Here is how JEE Advanced result is prepared.
- Marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Papers 1 and 2 are added individually. This means that marks secured by a candidate in Physics in both papers will be added to determine the total marks in the subject. The same procedure is followed for Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Thereafter, the candidate’s aggregate marks is calculated based on the marks secured by the candidate in each subject.
- On the basis of scores, candidates will be awarded JEE Advanced ranks 2023. It is mandatory for the candidates have to appear in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 in order to be considered for inclusion in the common rank list (CRL).
Tie Breaking Rule in JEE Advanced Result 2023
If two or more candidates secure the same marks in JEE Advanced 2023 exam, then the following tie-breaking policy will be applied to arrive at a rank:
- Candidate who has higher positive marks will be awarded a higher rank.
- If a tie exists then a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics.
- If the above also does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Physics.
- If the tie is not resolved even after following the above procedure, then the candidates will be assigned the same rank.
JEE Advanced 2023 Cutoff Marks
Candidates are considered qualified in JEE Advanced result 2023 only if he/she has secured the minimum percentage or marks in each of the subject as well as in aggregate. Candidates who qualify in more than one category are considered in all the categories to which he/she belongs for the purpose of ranking. The category wise minimum passing marks in each subject as per as percentage is given in the table below.
