Arjuna Awards 2023 Winners: President Droupadi Murmu presented India’s top-performing athletes at Rashtrapati Bhawan with national sports awards on Tuesday. The second-highest sports honour of India, the Arjuna Award is a token of appreciation by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, for the Outstanding Performance in Sports and Games. This prestigious award is named after Arjuna, one of the most important figures from the Sanskrit epic Mahabharata of ancient India. He has been a symbol of hard work, dedication and concentration.

The President of India, Draupadi Murmu, presented the Arjuna Award to 26 athletes on Tuesday. Out of which, the majority of athletes on the list competed in the Asian Games 2023, where India created history by winning more than 100 medals in a single competition. Also, Mohammed Shami is the only cricket player to receive the award in 2023.
