The Hurun Research Institute, a global research firm renowned for its annual rich lists, particularly the Hurun India Rich List, has released the list of the top 10 cities with the most billionaires in India. The list includes cities including Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru, among others.

Here's the list of the top 10 cities with the most billionaires in India in 2024. These cities are home to some of the wealthiest individuals in the country, with Mumbai topping the list as the city with the highest number of billionaires.

Mumbai has now become the billionaire capital, surpassing China's capital, Beijing. Also, according to the Hurun Rich List 2024, Mumbai is the most wealthy city, with a total of 92 billionaires residing there. 

In comparison to last year’s Hurun Rich List 2023, Mumbai still has maintained its position as one of the top cities with the highest number of billionaires. Here is the comparison between these two years:

From 2020 till now, Mumbai has seen an upsurge in the number of billionaire entries, going from 217 to 386 in just four years.

In addition, New Delhi saw an increase of 89 billionaires, from 128 to 217. However, 68 billionaires were entitled to the tag. Similarly, Hyderabad saw an increase from 50 to 104 billionaires in the same time frame. But 18 of them were qualified to the tag of billionaires.

And if you are wondering who is the richest billionaire in India, then it might make you a little surprised to learn that Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, holds that title. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, holds the second number.

Gautam Adani's net worth is approximately 1,161,800 crores, whereas Mukesh Ambani's net worth is around 1,014,700 crores. On the third number comes Shiv Nadar, the founder and chairman of HCL, who has a net worth of around 314,000 crores.

On the fourth of the list arrives Cyrus S. Poonawalla, the Serum Institute of India Chairman, with a net worth of approximately 289,800 crores. On the fifth spot is Dilip Shanghvi, Chairman and CEO of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, with a net worth of around 249,900 crores.

These individuals are some of the wealthiest people in India, known for their successful business ventures and contributions to the economy. They have made significant contributions to the Indian economy and have established themselves as prominent figures in the business world.
