CBSE to allow At-Home Evaluation of Answer Sheets: According to the latest update, CBSE Board is considering allowing at home evaluation of the answer sheets to speed up the evaluation process and declare 10th and 12th Class Results on time. While the Board has not announced any decision officially, but at-home evaluation of answer sheets is one of the options that is being considered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to speed up the evaluation process and ensure timely declaration of CBSE Board 10th and 12th Results 2020. These details were shared in a media report published by Times Now, in which board officials have confirmed that at-home evaluation options is under consideration by the board.
Evaluation At Home – A Necessity in Corona lockdown
Typically, the CBSE Board follows a three tier evaluation process to ensure proper checking of the answer sheets and fair marking of the answers provided by the students in the answer sheets. As per the original evaluation process, two teachers would check the answer sheets at the designated examination centres to ensure that no mistakes are done during the checking process. Thereafter, Assistant Head Examiners and Head Examiners check the answer sheets for any errors including totalling errors and others.
However, with the national lockdown in place due to COVID-19 pandemic, the board is very unlikely to follow this process. To ensure social distancing norms even after the lockdown is lifted and to speed up the evaluation work, the board is looking at Evaluation Work to be completed in Work from Home Mode. Many other state boards, who are looking to release Board exam results early have already adopted this model.
Another key change that might be implemented as part of the CBSE’s Evaluation Process is that the board might look at getting the answer sheets evaluated in the same zone where the exam was held. Earlier, answer sheets were shuffled across zones to ensure complete transparency in the checking process. However, this time, due to the lockdown and the lack of time, the board might opt to get the answer sheets checked in the same zone where the exam was held.
