Reduction in Class 11 Admission Fees: On Monday, Education Minister Lalchhandama Ralte decided along with other state government to lessen admission fees by 30 percent in all state-run schools for students seeking admission in class 11. He said this decision has been taken because of the ongoing pandemic and the difficulty that parents and students are facing due to it. He informed this while addressing a felicitation function at the Mizo Higher Secondary School.
Education Minister Lalchhandama Ralte Statement
The minister said, "The state government has decided to reduce admission fees for Class 11 students, seeking admission in government higher secondary schools, adhoc aided higher secondary schools, lumpsum aided higher secondary schools and deficit higher secondary schools, which receive regular grants from the government." Apart from this, he also urged all private schools to slash admission fees because of the challenges being faced by the people due to the pandemic.
Admission to Government Schools
The education minister also urged the parents to get their children admitted to government schools, which are managed not only by qualified teachers but charge no tuition fees. Not only the state government but several students' bodies and organisations, including the Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA), lauded the state government's decision to reduce admission fees.
Mizoram State Board Exams
On 3rd June. Mizoram Board of School Education has announced the MBSE result for class 10th board exams. The exams 2021 were conducted from 1st to 15th April 2021. Students can check the MBSE HSLC result 2021 by entering their roll number and registration number.
Mizoram Schools Closed
Earlier in April, the Mizoram State Government and the Education Department have decided to close down schools across the state for students of up to class 8 in the wake of the rising number of COVID-19 cases. However, only online classes will be conducted for students of class eight and below as normal classes had been suspended with immediate effect.
