Navodaya Vidyalayas School Reopening: With COVI0-19 cases declining across the country, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has decided to reopen Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) for regular / offline classes for higher-classes (Class 9 to 12 stuents) with 50% capacity. Get details here.

Navodaya Vidyalayas School Reopening: As per the latest update, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has given its permission to allow reopening of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) for regular or offline classes for higher classes students. In an official statement issued recently, the Samiti noted that Physical Classes will begin for Class 9 to 12 students in JNVs across the country soon. However, adopting a cautious approach to the school reopening, NVS has planned a phase-wise reopening with schools only allowed to operate at 50% capcity initially. Along with the reopening of schools, NVS has also permitted reopening of hostels and residential facilities on its campus.

Dates for JNV School Reopening to be Announced Soon

As of now, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has not specified any date from when the schools will be allowed to reopen for physical classes. However, the Samiti is expected to announce the date for reopening of school also soon, along with the detailed guidelines and SOPs for School Reopening. Like all other schools, students, teachers and other staff members will be required to strictly adhere to COVID-19 guidelines and SOPs to ensure their health and well-being.

Online Classes to Continue

For the initial period after the reopening of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, NVS will keep attendance optional and only those students who voluntarily want to visit the school for physical classes will be allowed. Simultaneously, the online education or classes for students will also continue as earlier. However, students will be allowed to attend physical or offline classes only with parents’ consent. JNVs would make adequate provisions and arrangements for counselling. This would provide proper support to the mental and physical well-being of students.
