NEET PG Counselling 2021: Doctors' Association urge CJI to speed up counselling

The Federation of All India Medical Association has written to the Chief Justice of India asking to speed up the hearing on the NEET PG 2021 Counselling procedure. As per a tweet put out the FAIMA has asked the CJI to speed up the NEET PG 2021 Counselling as residents across the country are exhausted due to the shortage of doctors. NEET PG will give a significant boost to the workforce which is the need of the hour. 

In the letter, the doctors association has stated that the NEET PG 2021 was scheduled to be conducted in April 2021 but was instead held in September and due to the delay NEET PG aspirants wasted almost a year and the junior residents have been exhausted. The letter further adds that the delay in the counselling process is an injustice to the authorities towards the hardworking residents as well as the aspiring PG candidates awaiting to start their specialization. 

 

FAIMA has urged the CJI to speed up the counselling process asking to fast track the judgement on EWS-OBC reservations in the All India Quota and expedite the counselling and admission process for the 2021-22 academic session. The association has also requested the SC to direct the concerned authorities to complete the NEET PG 2021 admission process by December 31, 2021. 

The NEET PG Counselling registrations for Round 1 was scheduled to begin from October 25, 2021 however the candidates were informed by the Medical Counselling Committee that the counselling process will begin only after the clarification comes from the Supreme Court.
