Student Credit Card Scheme: As per the updates, earlier on Thursday, the West Bengal cabinet approved the student credit card scheme. A student can get a soft loan of up to Rs 10 lakh to pursue higher studies with the help of the credit card. The same has been promised by the Trinamool Congress in its election manifesto. This scheme will be launched on 30th June 2021. To repay the loan, fifteen years will be given to a student after they get a job.
Eligibility for Student Credit Card Scheme
Anyone who has spent 10 years in West Bengal can avail of the benefits of this scheme. Also, the person is eligible for the scheme till 40 years of age. As per the reports, Mamta Banerjee informed that "Today, the cabinet gave its nod to the student Credit Card scheme. Anyone who has spent 10 years in West Bengal can avail of the benefits of it. The loan will be available for undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral study in India or abroad."
West Bengal Class 10th and 12th Board Exams
Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the cancellation of classes 10 and 12 board exams. The decision to cancel WB board exams have been taken after consultation with stakeholders. Soon after the cancellation, the authorities released the evaluation criteria for the declaration of board exam results for class 10th and 12th.
West Bengal Class 10th and 12th Evaluation Criteria
The authorities released the evaluation criteria. For class 10th, the board has decided to adopt a 50:50 formula. While 50% marks will be awarded on the basis of marks obtained in the class 9 annual examination. Also, the remaining 50% will be based on class 10 internal assessment marks. For class 12th students, the board will follow a 40:60 formula. As per the criteria, 40% weightage to the best of four subjects in class 10 Madhyamik exam in 2019 and 60 per cent weightage to the annual class 11 theory exam held in 2020. Also, class 12 practicals or projects, for Science and Arts respectively will be considered.
