
Ahead of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, the Centre for Humanities and Compassion Studies of the Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XUB) has organised a conference on Gandhi on October 1. The topic of the conference is 'Searching for 'Human' in humanities'. M Nadarajah, chair professor at the center, stated they will have three sessions discussing on compassion, non-violence and Gandhian philosophy. Many experts like Siby K Joseph from the Institute of Gandhian Studies will deliberate on the integration of compassion with non-violence in the first session.
The second session will include discussions on imagining Gandhi and the ecological context of the Sundarbans, while the last session will deliberate on Gandhi, compassion and new humanities. Many speakers like Amity Mokhopadhyay of Jadavpur University and Avijit Pathak from Jawaharlal Nehru University will attend the conference.
Along with this, the news is also coming that the Xavier University, Bhubaneswar(XUB) has also declared the admission process for its two-year full-time MBA programme for the academic year 2019-21. The Xavier University came into being with the Government of Odisha passing the Xavier University Act in June 2013. It carries the legacy of XIMB (Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar), a premier world-class B-School in the country. Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XUB) claims that it sees itself as a quality institute delivering quality management education to qualified students from the world over.
The Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XUB) consists of eight schools: Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB), Xavier School of Human Resource Management (XAHR), Xavier School of Rural Management (XSRM), Xavier School of Sustainability (XSOS), Xavier School of Commerce (XSC), and Xavier School of Communications (XCOMM), Xavier School of Economics (XSE), and Xavier School of Computer Science and Engineering (XCOMP). With the formation of Xavier University, Bhubaneswar (XUB), various Schools of Management have been created and these earlier programs have been renamed as MBA-BM, MBA-HRM, MBA-RM & PhD Programs, since XUB as a University can award degrees.
