To ensure maximum and efficient utilization of Online Labs (OLabs), CBSE has released a circular to all heads of institutions affiliated to CBSE for training of teachers on managing online lab resources.
Online Labs (OLabs) for School Environment is a virtual online e-Learning initiative jointly developed by CDAC, Mumbai and Amrita University, Kollam with funding support from the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
The Department of Electronics and Information Technology is also funding a project on ‘Rollout of OLabs’ wherein teachers of CBSE affiliated schools will be trained for using and managing OLab resources.
OLabs provide interactive simulations, animations, and lab videos. It provides an online platform which gives the ability to learn, perform and record experiments anytime anywhere.
The content of Online Labs is according to the NCERT/CBSE and State Board Syllabus.
With the help of OLabs a student studying in a small school without proper lab facility will be able to understand and perform experiments with the help of computer and internet connection.
For schools where internet is not available will get a DVD version on demand.
The OLabs trainings for teachers are free of cost and the participating teachers will recieve participation certificate.
All the details regarding trainings will be available on the official website of OLabs.
