CBSE CRYPTIC CROSSWORD CONTEST 2016 [CCCC-2016] is going to start from 18 April 2016. CBSE has released a circular to all the heads of schools affiliated to CBSE containing all the details of the contest. The first round of this national level competition will be organized in 29 cities all over India from April to August 2016. There are exciting prizes trophies and certificates for the winners and runner up.
Main highlights of the circular released by CBSE are:
Eligibility Criteria: The CBSE Cryptic Crossword Contest 2016 is open to students studying in classes IX to XII
There will be two rounds: City Round and National Round.
City Rounds | Inter-school contest in select cities during April- August, 2016. (CCCC-2016 CITY ROUND CALENDAR is given at the end of the article) | Schools located in the vicinity of the designated cities may also participate | Each team consists of 2 students who would solve a written cryptic crossword puzzle in 60 minutes |
Winners of City Round will be eligible for National Round.
Second class rail fare for two students and one school escort will be reimbursed to the teams competing in the National Round.
National Round

The quarter final: A written cryptic crossword puzzle to be solved in 60 minutes by all the qualifying teams. Top 16 teams will qualify for the semi-finals.
The semi-final: The teams will be divided into 4 groups of four teams each who will participate in four separate, onstage cryptic crossword contests of 60 minutes duration based on a power point format.
The final: Top team from each semi-final and the two best runners-up compete in the onstage final.
