Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the marking schemes for all subjects of class 10. Here we are presenting the marking schemes for main subjects of class 10.

The subjects for which the marking scheme has been notified for class 10 are Mathematics, Science, Social Science, English (Communications) and English (Language and Literature).

    What is CBSE Marking Scheme?

CBSE, every year, releases the answer keys for all subjects of class 10 and class 12 for which it has conducted the board exams. These answer keys/ marking schemes are the same which have been used while checking the answer copies of CBSE Board Examinations.

Marking scheme/ Answer key states the main points or concepts which must be covered in an answer for a question given in the board question paper.  It also illustrates the marks allocated to each step of a solution or every concept dictated in an answer.

What is the Importance of CBSE Marking Scheme?

    • CBSE marking scheme helps students get an idea to frame the perfect answers in board exams which contain every important key point so as to fetch maximum scores.
    • It also helps students to understand the criteria of marks allotment to various points explained in an answer.
    • Also, a number of candidates apply for the re-evaluation of their checked answer(s) where they find any discrepancy or anomaly in checking process. For this they are suggested to first refer to the marking scheme for the subject concerned so as to make sure that their answer(s) contains all necessary key points.
    • For students who will take their CBSE Class 10 Board Exams in year 2019, it’s important to practice the previous year board question papers. They should refer the CBSE marking schemes to know answers for questions which are not clear to them.
    • The word limit is considered to be the most crucial factor while answering questions asked in CBSE board question papers. With the help of key answers given in marking scheme, students will easily understand the word limit to be followed while answering the questions asked in CBSE Board Exams.
