CBSE 2024-25 Competency-Based Questions With Answers: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the competency-based questions (CBQs) for Class 9 to 12 for the 2025 board examination. The questions aim to assess students' critical thinking and reasoning abilities through the use of real-life examples. These manuals are released by CBSE for each subject and class to facilitate the proper learning and preparation for the board exams.

CBSE Class 10 Science Competency-Based Questions
There are 13 chapters in the CBSE Class 10 Science syllabus that students have to prepare for their annual board examination 2025. Competency-Based Question Weightage for Class 10
For the academic years 2023-24 and 2024-25, the format of the question paper for Classes IX and X year-end and Board exams will stay the same. Competency-based questions, including multiple-choice questions (MCQs), case-based, and source-based questions, will make up 50% of the total marks. Of this, 20% will be MCQs and other selected-response questions. The remaining 30% will be short-answer and long-answer questions, following the current pattern. This format ensures a balanced focus on both knowledge and practical skills.
How to Solve Competency-Based Questions?
To solve competency-based questions, start by understanding the main idea of the question. These questions test how well you can apply your knowledge to real-life situations, so don’t just memorise facts. Read the question carefully, and think about how the concepts you’ve learned relate to the scenario. Break down the problem step by step and focus on key details. For multiple-choice questions, eliminate wrong answers first. For case-based or long-answer questions, write clear and logical explanations. Practising these types of questions regularly will help improve your problem-solving skills.
