Weightage of Competency-Based Questions in CBSE Class 10 Boards
For the academic sessions 2023-24 and 2024-25, the composition of the question paper for the year-end and Board examinations for Classes IX and X remains unchanged. Competency-focused questions, which include multiple-choice questions (MCQs), case-based questions, and source-based integrated questions, will constitute 50% of the total marks. Additionally, selected response-type questions, such as MCQs, will account for 20%. The remaining 30% will consist of constructed response questions, which include short-answer and long-answer questions, following the existing pattern. This structure emphasizes a balanced approach to assessing both knowledge and practical application.
