CGPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2025
Candidates going to attempt the prelims examination must be well acquainted with the CGPSC Prelims Syllabus and exam pattern. The exam pattern will help candidates to analyse the topic wise weightage, number of sections and other relevat information.
- The medium of the question paper shall be Hindi and English.
- As per the marking scheme, each question carries 2 marks and there shall be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.
- The minimum qualifying marks in each paper for the unreserved category will be 33% and 23% for reserved categories. The second question paper shall be of a qualifying nature

Candidates are requested to download the admit card before. The admit card is the official document that is required by the candidate to carry to the examination centre. CGPSC Prelims 2025 Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates who are going to appear in the upcoming CGPSC preliminary examinations should ensure that they have gone through the exam day guidelines before attempting the examination. Check here the list of instructions that a candidate should follow on the day of the examination.
- Candidates should reach the exam centre one hour before the reporting time in order to complete all the requirements of the exam.
- Candidates should carry their admit cards and a valid photo ID to avoid any last-minute confusions at the exam centre.
- Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination centre after the gates get closed.
- The candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before it ends. So the candidates who completed their examination earlier will be requested to sit and maintain the decorum of the exam hall.
- It is mandatory for the candidates to carry a hard copy of their card and valid ID proof to the exam hall.
- Candidates will not be allowed to take their own belongings inside the examination hall, which includes watches, pagers, calculators, tablets, iPads, Bluetooth, mobile phones, or any other type of computing device.
