Delhi University declared the second cut off list on 29 June 2012. The students who couldn’t get through the first list, do not seem to avail much respite with this list. Almost thirty six colleges have closed their shutters for B Com (hons) giving commerce aspirants enough reasons to worry. However, colleges such as Lady Shri Ram, Kirorimal and Hindu introduced a dip in their cut off’s for B Com (hons) up to 0.5%.The most interesting landmark in Delhi University admissions this year is, SRCC after a long spell have come up with their second cut off list for general category candidates.
Almost twelve colleges including SRCC are still open for Economic Hons. With Commerce fitting on the tighter bill, options looked wider for Science. Courses such as Physics (hons) and Chemistry (hons) are mostly available in colleges such as Miranda House, Hindu, Hansraj and Ramjas. BSc Life Sciences, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology are still to be filled in colleges.
While the drop in most top colleges were nothing remarkable, students can still see the brighter side and get admissions in a number of colleges that are off campus. The other good news that sailed across was, English (hons) students may still have options handy. There is a dip of up to 8% in the CATE cutoff, also the candidates can expect a dip of 1-3% in the general cut off.
Seems like after the sky touching first cut off list, second list also failed to be student friendly. With commerce seats getting filled at a rapid speed, only time will tell us where an average student stands in Delhi University. The Delhi University will announce the third cut off list on 2 July 2012.
