How to attempt SBI Clerk Prelims 2016!

SBI is all set to conduct SBI clerk exam 2016. The Examination is scheduled to be held in the month of May/June. The selection process will consist of on-line test (preliminary & main examinations), test of official and/or local language and subject to Government of India approval, interview.

Pattern of Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank will be short listed for the Main Examination.

Revision of Key Topics: Candidates are advised to revise all the formulas and rules for each subject.  For example: Revise basic English grammar rules from any grammar book, check out all formulas for QA section.

Pick the right question to attempt: Every competitive examination has some easy, some moderate and some very tough questions – those who wish to ace the exam must learn to spot the easy ones and avoid the tough ones. So candidates are advised to scan the section first. No one will be able to attempt all questions in the given time and therefore the best approach is to focus on accuracy rather than on the number of questions to be attempted.

Time allocation for each section: Allocate time to each section as there is sectional cut offs so, candidates has to qualify in each section. Candidates should decide in advance how much time they will spend on each section. Plan this out according to your strengths and weaknesses.

Avoid guesswork: Aspirants are advised to avoid guesswork as 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests.

Do not lose excessive time over any question: The best rule is that if you are no closer to solving a Question even after 2-3 minutes then it is wise to abandon the same and move on to other one. 

Cross-check the options also: Sometimes one can easily get the answer by just checking the given options. So cross check the given options before marking your answer.

Be confident: Self Confidence is the key to crack this examination. From a comparative analysis of the candidates who got already selected, self confidence was one thing that found common amongst all selected ones. You need to keep yourself charged and have faith in yourself. This will definitely help you to answer your questions in the examination with self-assurance and conviction.  

Don’t get panic: And last but not the least ensure aspirants should pace themselves during the exam. It is most important among all is “Don’t get panic” this will lower speed and thinking ability.
