Eligibility Criteria for Territorial Army
The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil the eligibility conditions for the commission. Their candidature at all the stages of the commissioning process will be purely provisional, subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. To apply for the Territorial Army, candidates must meet the following conditions:

Territorial Army Selection Process
The selection process for the Territorial Army comprises multiple stages, including a written exam, preliminary interview, SSB interview and medical examination. The details of each step are given below:
- Online Entrance Examination: A computer-based test assessing reasoning, elementary mathematics, general knowledge, and English language skills.
- Preliminary Interview Board (PIB): Shortlisted candidates from the written exam will be called for an interview conducted by a Preliminary Interview Board to assess their suitability for the commission.
- Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview: Candidates recommended by the PIB will undergo the SSB interview, which evaluates psychological aptitude, leadership qualities, and overall personality through various tests over several days.
- Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the SSB interview will undergo a comprehensive medical examination to ensure they meet the medical standards required for commission in the Territorial Army.
Territorial Army Training and Service Commitment
Selected candidates will undergo basic military training to familiarise themselves with military duties and responsibilities. As part-time soldiers, Territorial Army personnel are required to serve for a few days every year, including annual training camps and other military duties as assigned.
- Six months Pre-Commission Training
- Two months annual training camp every year.
This structure allows individuals to continue their civilian careers while contributing to national defense.
