IIT JEE admissions: Summary Of Joint Seat Allocation 2015 - Round 4

    Round - 4 of the counselling conducted by the JoSAA, conducted for the admission to IIT JEE has been completed. The results of round - 4 have also been released by the JoSAA. The summary joint seat allocation after the completion of round - 4 are as follows:

    • In all, 33,908 candidates were allotted seats in Round 3 of Joint Seat Allocation 2015 for 87 institutes comprising of 18 IITs, ISM, 31 NITs, 18 IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and 18 Other-GFTIs. Out of these, 31,232 candidates have accepted the seat (inclusive of 30,181 candidates who accepted seat in Rounds 1 and 2). This resulted in overall vacancy of 2,676 seats at the end of Round 3 of JoSAA 2015. These vacant seats were allocated in this Round 4 by using the NIC and IIT Kanpur implementations of the DA algorithm based on the filled-in choices by the candidates prior to Round 1 [and prior to Round 2 allotment by those whose ranks were released by CBSE at the end of Round 1seat acceptance], and their category-wise all India ranks in JEE (Main) 2015 Paper-1, JEE (Main) 2015 Paper-2 and JEE (Advanced) 2015.
    • Round 4 allotment output from the NIC and IIT Kanpur implementations matched with each other. In addition, these allocations were validated for compliance of all the business rules by the testing + validation teams from IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Guwahati. It was found that the allocations comply with all the business rules.
