The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2016 [JEE (Advanced) 2016] was conducted by the seven zonal IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2016 on 22 May 2016 (Sunday).
The examination consisted of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of three hours duration. While JEE (Advanced) Paper-1 was almost similar to that held in 2015, JEE (Advanced) Paper-2 drastically differed from the previous year paper. match questions were missing from the paper. Also, this year IIT Guwahati, the examination body, decided to introduce partial marking pattern.

In JEE Advanced Paper 1 physics paper was very conceptual and difficult, chemistry was based on fundamentals and was moderate and mathematics paper was lengthy and some questions were tricky.
In JEE Advanced Paper – 2 also, physics questions were tough, chemistry was moderate and mathematics question were even lengthier than paper 1.
