JIPMER Invites Applications for Admissions in Emergency Medical Technician Certificate Course

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has invited applications for admissions in Emergency Medical Technician Certificate Course. The duration of this certificate course is 12 months.
By the good worth of practical classes, the course will train students on how to offer early care during trauma and non-trauma emergencies as paramedical staff members. The students will be imparted training in the various resuscitation and other interventions by the faculty of anesthesiology, orthopedics, medicine, pediatrics and nursing sciences.
The candidates who had completed 10+2 with science or vocational stream with MLT/nursing and are aged between 17 and 25 years as on 12 December 2013 are eligible for the course, said a concerned release from the institute.
The total number of seats available for the course is 20 and the fees for the course is Rs 130 with compulsory caution deposit of Rs 1,000. JIPMER will also pay a stipend of Rs 300 per month for the entire course duration of 12 months to the students based on their attendance.
On successful completion of the course, JIPMER will certify the students as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Besides, after the completion of the course, the institute will offer optional internship for 12 months to the students and for this a stipend of Rs 3,713 will be paid per month.

The walk-in-counseling for the same will be conducted at Exam HaIl-3, III-Floor, JIPMER Academic center from 8:00AM to 9:00AM on 12 September 2013.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their ranking in the Merit List based on marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology or Biology taken together.
