Know the difference between Paper-1 and Paper-2 of JEE Main

    Why there are two papers in JEE Main? Some students might get confused about the difference between Paper-1 and Paper-2 of JEE Main. Here in this article you will get to know the difference between them.

    Difference between Paper-1 and Paper-2 of JEE Main

    Earlier the paper that was known as AIEEE, now known as JEE Main is divided into two papers-Paper1 and Paper-2.

    Paper-1 offers admission in B.Tech in NIT , IIIT, CFTIs and SFIs whereas Paper-2 offers admission B.Arch and B.Planning course in different colleges of the country. In simple language Paper 1 is for engineering aspirants whereas Paper 2 is for architecture students.

    Now let’s know more about both the papers.

    Paper-1

    Timing – 3 hours

    Divided into 3 sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

    • Each question is allotted 4 marks for correct response.
    • 1/4 marks will be deducted for indicating incorrect response of each question
    • There is only one correct response for each question.
    • Filling up more than one response in any question will be treated as wrong response and marks for wrong response will be deducted as per given above.

    Paper- 2

    Timing- 3 hours

    Divided into 3 sections:  Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing Aptitude

    Part III (Drawing aptitude) consists of 2 questions carrying 70 marks which are to be attempted on a separate drawing sheet.

    You can also give both the exams. It depends on your choice.
