Why there are two papers in JEE Main? Some students might get confused about the difference between Paper-1 and Paper-2 of JEE Main. Here in this article you will get to know the difference between them.
Earlier the paper that was known as AIEEE, now known as JEE Main is divided into two papers-Paper1 and Paper-2.
Paper-1 offers admission in B.Tech in NIT , IIIT, CFTIs and SFIs whereas Paper-2 offers admission B.Arch and B.Planning course in different colleges of the country. In simple language Paper 1 is for engineering aspirants whereas Paper 2 is for architecture students.

Paper-1
Timing – 3 hours
Divided into 3 sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

- Each question is allotted 4 marks for correct response.
- 1/4 marks will be deducted for indicating incorrect response of each question
- There is only one correct response for each question.
- Filling up more than one response in any question will be treated as wrong response and marks for wrong response will be deducted as per given above.
Paper- 2
Timing- 3 hours
Divided into 3 sections: Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing Aptitude

Part III (Drawing aptitude) consists of 2 questions carrying 70 marks which are to be attempted on a separate drawing sheet.
