However there are no changes introduced in the preliminary exam pattern of IBPS Clerk. The Mains examination will have the following changes. Unlike the last year, there would be four sections instead of five.
- The total number of question in the mains exam has been reduced to 190 from 200.
- The total time allotted for the exam has also been changed and increased to 160 minutes from 135 minutes. It is expected that the difficulty level of the examination will go up.
- Computer Knowledge and Reasoning Ability: Now there will be no separate section of Computer Knowledge. Computer Knowledge will be a part of Reasoning Ability.
- The section ‘General Awareness (with special reference to Banking)’ got the new name i.e. General/ Financial Awareness. There will be 50 questions in this section carrying 50 marks. Candidates have to attempt questions in 35 minutes. Earlier time allotted for this section was 25 minutes. Now this section can play a vital role to increase your overall score.
- Quantitative Aptitude section tests the problem-solving skills of the candidates. Now you will get 15 minutes more to solve Quantitative Aptitude. The total time allotted for this section is 45 minutes. Earlier, the time allotted for the QA was 30 minutes. However the number of question has also been increased to 50 from 40.
